Australia extends quintozene suspension
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has once again extended the suspension of the fungicide, quintozene. The APVMA first suspended registrations in April 2010 due to the presence of undeclared dioxin impurities at levels that might pose a risk to applicators. No supply or use of quintozene-containing products is allowed under the suspension, which applies until November 13th 2015. Last year, the Authority extended the suspension until February 14th 2015.
