TKI acquires Syngenta's Solicam herbicide

The Belgian Tessenderlo Group's US subsidiary, Tessenderlo Kerley Inc (TKI - Phoenix, Arizona), has acquired the herbicide, Solicam (norflurazon), from Syngenta. The deal covers global assets including trade names, registrations and know-how. Solicam is used for the control of grass and broadleaf weeds in citrus, alfalfa, peanuts, tree fruits and nuts, caneberries, grapevines, asparagus and other crops. The product will be managed by TKI's NovaSource crop protection unit. "This acquisition provides customers with continued access to this important herbicide," says NovaSource group vice-president David Cassidy.
