US EPA cancels methomyl uses
The US EPA has issued a cancellation order for certain uses of the carbamate insecticide, methomyl. The Agency recently indicated that it was moving ahead with the removal of barley, oats and rye from methomyl product labels following a voluntary cancellation request from registrants. The order takes effect on March 18th and registrants will have 18 months to sell or distribute products carrying the old labels. Persons other than registrants can sell, distribute or use the products until stocks are exhausted. The order affects products registered by DuPont and Macdermid Agricultural Solutions, the Chinese company, Rotam, and the Taiwanese company, Sinon.
