Albaugh Europe acquires Pinus
US agrochemical and fine chemical company Albaugh's European subsidiary, Albaugh Europe, has acquired the Slovenian agrochemical firm, Pinus TKI (Rače). It will be renamed Albaugh tovarna kemičnih izdelkov. The primary business of Pinus is the manufacture of tallow amine-free glyphosate herbicide, with registrations in 19 countries. Pinus has 90 employees and a distribution network throughout south-eastern Europe. "This acquisition will provide a strategic manufacturing facility for our European business with its highly experienced personnel and centralised location," says Albaugh Europe managing director Douglas Kaye. "It also broadens the Albaugh glyphosate portfolio with access to ever more important tallow free glyphosate registrations, and extends our commercial presence in markets in south-eastern Europe," he adds.
