Mexican agchem industry lauds new approval system
The Mexican crop protection association, the Proccyt, has lauded Mexico’s new pesticide registration system as “an enormous advance”. The government issued a decree last year amending the registration system among other measures. “Last year’s update of the ‘Plafest’ regulation will enable us to transfer the most advanced technologies to growers,” Proccyt president Froylan Avandanio Rey says. The regulation amends 35 of the 41 articles of the 2004 version, including seven “completely new” articles, the association notes.
