US approval for Bayer's DiFlexx herbicide
Bayer CropScience has received US approval for its safened dicamba herbicide, DiFlexx, for the control of broadleaf weeds in maize. Bayer indicated last year that it planned to introduce the product in 2015 subject to EPA approval. DiFlexx incorporates Bayer's Crop Safety Innovation safener technology, which has been used in the company's Corvus (thiencarbazone-methyl + isoxaflutole) and Balance Flexx (isoxaflutole) herbicide formulations. The advantages of DiFlexx over other safened dicamba products are that it is a liquid that can be applied pre- and post-emergence, with the ability to safen amide products, Bayer notes.
