China’s Jiangsu province sees growth in 2014
The agrochemical industry in the Chinese province of Jiangsu continued to grow in 2014, realising some Yuan 44,879 million ($7,215 million at the current rate) in agrochemical sales, an increase of 7% over the previous year. The figures are compiled from the province’s 28 “major” agrochemical companies by the Jiangsu Crop Protection Industry Association. Jiangsu, on the east coast, is China’s leading province in terms of pesticide output, and home to several major glyphosate herbicide manufacturers. The 28 Jiangsu companies made combined profits of Yuan 3,262 million ($524 million) on their pesticide businesses in 2014, up 4.8%.
