Bayer debuts maize herbicide in Spain
Bayer CropScience has unveiled its maize herbicide, Monsoon Active (thiencarbazone-methyl + foramsulfuron + cyprosulfamide safener), in Spain. The herbicide completes its range of products for use on the crop, the company says. The oil dispersion formulation is for the control of annual and perennial weeds. Bayer notes that it doubled the area that its platform of maize products covered last year in the major regions of the north of Spain, reaching 500,000 ha between Castille and Leon, Navarre, the Rioja, and Galicia. Full EU approval for thiencarbazone-methyl came last year, with the first registration having been granted in 2008 in Romania.
