US university develops pesticide use app
The US Iowa State University's Pesticide Safety Education Program has developed a smartphone and tablet application for pesticide record keeping. It allows users to document pesticide application information and link that to specific field locations using satellite mapping. The app also features a product search option that lists US EPA product registration numbers and identifies restricted-use products. It is available from the iTunes store as Pesticides and Field Records Plus and an Android version, Pesticide and Field Records, is available from Google Play. An updated version, scheduled for release in late February, will include printing and emailing capabilities.
