Canadian seed treatment patent for Exosect
UK-based enabling technology provider Exosect (Winchester, Hampshire) has been granted a Canadian patent for an oilseed seed treatment using its proprietary technology platform, Entostat. The biostimulant seed treatment contains spores of the fungus, Penicillium bilaii, for improving root growth and protection from environmental stresses, Exosect points out. Entostat is an electrostatic, dry micro-powder technology based on natural and/or synthetic waxes that readily adheres to the seed surface. It can be used to deliver synthetic chemicals, biopesticides and biostimulants. Exosect was recently granted a patent in the UK and Canada for improved seed flowability and for enhanced methods of sowing seeds for dust drift reduction using its Entostat technology.
