Syngenta to debut BroadAxe XC in US
Syngenta is to market the residual herbicide, BroadAxe XC (sulfentrazone 84 g/litre + S-metolachlor 756 g/litre), for use on soybeans, sunflowers and dry peas in the US this year. It has the same active ingredient composition as FMC's established product, Broadaxe. BroadAxe XC provides pre-emergence activity with "multiple modes of action" against a broad spectrum of weeds, Syngenta points out. Broadleaf weeds that are controlled include Palmer amaranth, waterhemp (both Amaranthus spp), morning-glory (Ipomoea spp), kochia (Kochia scoparia), lambsquarters (Chenopodium album) and Russian thistle (Salsola tragus). The product will expand the geography where Syngenta's residual herbicides can be applied on soybeans, sunflowers and dry peas, the company notes.
