Growth slows for Chinese agchem manufacturing in 2014
China produced some 3.7 million tonnes of agrochemicals in 2014, a 1.4% increase on the total for the previous year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. The report indicates growth in China's agrochemical manufacturing sector is seeing a slowdown. The initial reporting of 2013 figures revealed a 1.6% year-on-year increase at 3.2 million tonnes. Figures are sometimes revised, and the latest growth estimate indicates an upward revision for 2013. The December 2014 data are based on 367 manufacturers “of a certain scale” collected by the National Bureau and reported by the China Crop Protection Industry Association.
