Rotam opens office in Vietnam
Chinese agrochemical company Rotam (Hong Kong) has expanded its presence within the Asia Pacific region by opening an office in Vietnam. The company has identified the region as “strategically important” with Vietnam being a rapidly developing rice export market and a “key player” in the global supply of coffee and black peppers. The company’s plans to strengthen its presence in the Asia Pacific region will see it expand further into Thailand, Malaysia, Laos and Myanmar, says Asia Pacific regional head Dr Bakthan. Rotam’s strategic focus is on growing the proprietary post-patent segment, which was expected to account for 55% of the crop protection market by the end of 2014, it says.
