Japan OKs over 50 products based on new ais in 2014

The Japanese authorities approved more than 50 pesticide products based on nine new active ingredients, biopesticides or biological control agents in 2014. The new ais were: BASF's fungicide, ametoctradin (trade-marked as Initium); SDS Biotech's biofungicide, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens; DuPont's insecticide, cyantraniliprole (trade-marked as Cyazypyr); Arysta LifeScience's bioinsecticide, Metarhizium anisopliae; the Japan Beekeeping Association's parasitoid wasp, Bathyplectes anurus; Sumika Technoservice's predatory beetle, Propylea japonica; Bayer CropScience's herbicide, flufenacet; and Kumiai Chemical's herbicides, fenoxasulfone and pyroxasulfone.
