Oro Agri focuses on north-east Asia
Cayman Islands-based biopesticide company Oro Agri is focusing on the markets in north-east Asia including Cambodia, Myanmar and Vietnam. Myanmar has the greatest potential with some 16 million ha of rice and pulses being the most significant crops by area, Oro Agri says. Registration applications have been submitted for four products including: the orange oil based biopesticide, Prev-Am; the adjuvant, Wetcit; and Transformer, which is a blend of surfactants and plant extracts that improves soil microbial action. The company estimates the Vietnamese crop protection market at $1,000 million, with rice accounting for a 60% share. It launched micronutrient and foliar fertiliser products in the market in 2014. In Cambodia, which has some 5 million ha cultivated area, Oro Agri has launched Prev-Am, Wetcit and Transformer. The company has also appointed Nileda Co as sole distributor in the country.
