EU steps up debate over EDs
The European Commission is holding a series of meetings with stakeholders to discuss the establishment of criteria for identifying endocrine disruptors (EDs). The criteria will have an impact on registration assessments for agrochemicals and biocides. An initial meeting in March outlined the Commission’s impact assessment process, which aims to pave the way for a proposal on the definition of scientific criteria to identify EDs. Two further meetings in April will be for members of the European Parliament and EU Ministers. These will be followed by a conference in Brussels, Belgium on June 1st, to which interested parties from within and outside the EU will be invited.
