Syngenta/Forratec forage ST deal in Argentina
Syngenta and Argentine forage seed company Forratec (Chacabuco) have entered an agreement for the supply of “premium” forage seeds using Syngenta’s seed treatment technology under the Plenus brand. The market for forage seeds in Argentina is 70 million ha, although until now only alfalfa seeds were available with a professional protective treatment. The partnership allows Syngenta to expand the supply of Plenus professional treatments to other crops, says Syngenta Seeds director of seed treatments Carlos Becco. Syngenta launched three versions of its treated Plenus soybean seed range in Argentina in 2012.
