Australia OKs Dow's Arylex
The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) has approved Dow AgroSciences' halauxifen-methyl (trade-marked as Arylex)-based herbicide, GF-2685 (halauxifen-methyl 10% + cloquintocet-mexyl safener 10%). It is for the post-emergence control of broadleaf weeds in wheat and barley. The APVMA proposed the approval in December 2014. Dow submitted its application through a global joint review process by the authorities in Australia, Canada and the US. It received Canadian approval for two herbicides based on halauxifen-methyl last year and a US registration decision had been scheduled before the end of the year.
