More firms seek entry on EU biocide suppliers list
Three companies supplying non-crop pesticides are among the recent batch of applicants seeking an entry onto the EU list of suppliers of biocidal active ingredients and products. Belgium-based Sharda Europe, acting on behalf of Indian company Sharda Cropchem, has applied for listing as an active ingredient and product supplier of the insecticide, deltamethrin. Austrian company Plank Hygiene has applied to be an ai supplier of the insecticide, diflubenzuron. German company Thor has applied as an ai supplier of the fungicide, 3-iodo-2-propynyl butylcarbamate (IPBC), for a range of biocide uses, including as a wood preservative. The three companies are among a list of 19 pending applications, for which the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has not yet taken a decision.
