Dow aims Arylex combination at Australia
Dow AgroSciences is to market its new cereal herbicide, halauxifen-methyl (trade-marked as Arylex), in Australia as Paradigm (halauxifen-methyl 20% + florasulam 20%). The company received Australian approval for halauxifen-methyl this month. Paradigm is aimed at the post-emergence control of a range of broadleaf weeds in wheat, barley, oats and triticale. Halauxifen-methyl is the first member of a new chemical class of synthetic auxin herbicides, the arylpicolinates. It represents a new mode of action against weeds such as bifora (Bifora testiculata), deadnettle (Lamium amplexicaule), fumitory (Fumaria densiflora) and Mexican poppy (Argemone mexicana). The wettable granule formulation is recommended for use at 25 g/ha.
