Brazilian researchers tout IPM to halve agchem use

Official researchers from Brazil have proposed a “viable” cut by half in the use of pesticides on soybeans through the adoption of IPM measures. The agricultural research corporation, the Embrapa, notes that growers applied some 140 million litres of insecticides on soybeans in the 2013/14 season. “[That] cost almost $2,500 million just for soybean pest control. We could spend less.”
