Syngenta debuts turf fungicide in US
Syngenta has introduced the potassium phosphite-based fungicide, Appear, for use on turf in the US. It is for the control of Pythium spp and other diseases on turf such as golf courses, but not turf farms. It has a unique pigmented formulation that provides a deep green colour that improves turf quality and visual appearance, Syngenta notes. It is the latest addition to Syngenta's turf product portfolio following the introduction of the fungicide, Velista (DuPont/Mitsui Chemical's penthiopyrad), this year and the insecticide, Ference (cyantraniliprole), last year. It plans to introduce the fungicide/disease resistance activator, Heritage Action (azoxystrobin + acibenzolar-S-methyl), later this year.
