Syngenta seeks turf use for mesotrione in NZ
Syngenta has applied to the New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority for extended use of its herbicide, mesotrione, to turf as Tenacity. The herbicide is already sold for use on maize as Callisto. The Callisto registration limits the maximum application rate of the active ingredient to 290 g/ha and permits only one application per year. Syngenta is seeking to raise the application rate of the ai in Tenacity to 600 ml/ha and to increase the number of applications to two per year. The application is open to public comment until June 10th.
