Canada to OK Syngenta's Peak herbicide
The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has proposed the continued registration of Syngenta's herbicide, Peak 75 WG (prosulfuron 75%), following a re-evaluation. The herbicide does not present unacceptable risks to human health or the environment when used according to the registration conditions, including amended label directions, the PMRA notes. Peak is a post-emergence herbicide for the control of broadleaf weeds in maize, winter wheat, sorghum and millet in eastern Canada. The amended label conditions include an environmental hazard statement and buffer zones to protect non-target, sensitive habitats. The decision is subject to public consultation until June 13th.
