UK funding for sugar beet virus yellows
A team of UK researchers has received funding for a five-year collaborative research project targeting virus yellows in sugar beet. The collaboration involves scientists from the British Beet Research Organisation (BBRO), Belgian seed company Sesvanderhave, Syngenta and UK consultancy ADAS. The project is being led by the BBRO, with a total cost of £1.14 million ($1.7 million), of which around £650,000 ($969,482) will be grant funded by the UK Technology Strategy Board’s Innovate UK programme. Other costs are being funded by the BBRO, Sesvanderhave and Syngenta.
