New Zealand OKs novel mosquito repellent
The New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority has approved an application from the Australian subsidiary of US company S C Johnson to import a novel mosquito repellent. It is a strip impregnated with the pyrethroid insecticide, metofluthrin, which is part of a refill cartridge for insertion into a portable battery-operated vaporiser. Metofluthrin was not previously approved for use in New Zealand. The application was submitted last year.
