Canadian industry counts cost of Ontario neonic rules

Proposed regulations in the Canadian province of Ontario to reduce the use of neonicotinoid insecticides would cost the province more than Can$660 million (US$543 million) and "do absolutely nothing to help bees", according to industry association CropLife Canada's president and CEO, Ted Menzies. "The cost burden of this plan is tremendous," Mr Menzies says. "All without any tangible evidence that these regulations will have any positive impact on bee health."
