US Oregon County considers GMO ban

  • News

Opponents of genetically modified crops and organic crop interests are pressing voters in the US state of Oregon's Benton County to approve a ban on GM crops, arguing that the measure is needed to protect the local food supply. Voters in the County have until May 19th to cast their votes on Measure 2-89, known as the Benton County Local Food System Ordinance.
