Brazil to cut approval times by 70%
The Brazilian approval process for pesticides is to speed up three-fold, national media report. Approval times will fall by 70% the Minister of Agriculture, Katia Abreu, promises. She guarantees that the whole process will be accelerated by the adoption of “more intelligent, transparent and agile” methods that are to be developed under the new agriculture defence plan, newswire Agrolink reports. “Whereas previously we have taken 24 months to process an application [for pesticides], we will reduce that to 4-8 months,” she reportedly says.
