PelGar acquires Agropharm
UK non-crop pesticide manufacturer PelGar (Alton, Hampshire) has acquired UK pesticide firm Agropharm (Penn, Buckinghamshire). Both companies work internationally and have “very limited” overlap of territory and distribution. Agropharm has manufacturing and packing facilities in Telford, Shropshire. The Agropharm products will expand PelGar’s portfolio in the home and garden and crop protection markets and the acquisition will allow PelGar to introduce its range of “highly effective” rodenticides and insecticides to Agropharm’s existing customers. “Our successful natural pyrethrum range will help to boost PelGar’s market share in the international pest control and agricultural sectors,” says managing director of Agropharm Geoff Foxon. “This acquisition will allow us to expand our base both in the UK and internationally over the next few years,” adds PelGar managing director Gareth Capel-Williams. Both companies will, for the time being, continue to operate independently without disruption to their existing business.
