BASF debuts Lovit Comet on Spanish maize
BASF has launched its fungicide, Lovit Comet (epoxiconazole 6.25% + pyraclostrobin – trade marked as F500 - 8.5%), for use on maize in Spain. The company gained authorisation for the product as an emulsion concentrate formulation earlier this year for the control of southern corn leaf blight (Helminthosporium maydis) and common rust (Puccinia spp) on maize. It is to be marketed as part of BASF’s AgCelence range that provides benefits beyond crop protection such as enhanced photosynthesis and stress tolerance. BASF launched a co-pack of Comet (pyraclostrobin) and the epoxiconazole-based Lovit for use on cereals two years ago.
