Dow debuts Enlist Duo in US
Dow AgroSciences has made the first sales of its herbicide, Enlist Duo (2,4-D choline + glyphosate), in the US as part of its stewarded introduction of genetically modified herbicide-tolerant Enlist maize (DAS40278). The EPA approved Enlist for use in a further nine states in April, bringing the total number of states where it is authorised to 15. "The first sale of Enlist Duo herbicide is a game-changer for American farmers," says Dow portfolio marketing leader John Chase. "Growers now have a solution for the tough and resistant weeds they've been challenged by for years." With Enlist Duo, farmers have a new mode of action to incorporate into their post-emergence weed control programme, the company points out. The herbicide will be used in the seed production of Enlist soybeans (DAS68416 and DAS44406), which are due to be introduced in 2016-18.
