Bayer enters Australian herbicide research pact

Bayer CropScience has entered into a five-year partnership with the Australian Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) targeting the development of herbicides with new modes of action and herbicide safeners. The project is aimed at managing herbicide-resistant weeds in Australia but it should also benefit growers worldwide, Bayer points out. Among the Australian weeds being targeted are ryegrass (Lolium spp), wild radish (Raphanus raphanistrum), feathertop rhodes grass (Chloris virgata) and fleabane (Conyza spp).
