US EPA to approve ISK's isofetamid
The US EPA proposes to register Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha subsidiary ISK Biosciences' fungicide, isofetamid. It recommends the approval of Isofetamid 400 SC (isofetamid 400 g/litre) for use on almonds, lettuces, grapevines, low-growing berries and rapeseed. A separate product with the same active ingredient content would be registered for use on turf. Isofetamid controls a range of diseases including Sclerotinia spp, anthracnose (Colletotrichum spp), grey mould (Botrytis cinerea) and powdery mildews. The fungicide is recommended for use at 10.3-22 fl oz/acre (0.7-1.6 litre/ha) on food crops. It provides preventive and curative control of foliar and soil-borne diseases.
