Bayer launches seed treatments in UK
Bayer CropScience has launched the fungicidal seed treatment, Redigo Pro (tebuconazole + prothioconazole), and the insecticidal seed treatment, Deter (clothianidin), in the UK. The addition of tebuconazole to Redigo (prothioconazole) gives broad-spectrum disease control with consistent high levels against the major seed-borne diseases, the company says. Trials have shown very high levels of control of diseases such as bunt (both seed and soil borne) and a doubling of establishment where the Fusarium patch fungus, Microdochium nivale, is present. Deter (clothianidin) can be used alone or with Redigo Pro, as an alternative to Redigo Deter (prothioconazole + clothianidin). Bayer points out that while clothianidin can be used on spring and winter cereals, treated crops must be sown before January 1st.
