AgBiome/Genective partner on insect control traits
The US agricultural biotechnology company, AgBiome (Research Triangle Park, North Carolina), has formed a strategic partnership with the France-based KWS/Limagrain joint venture, Genective (Paris), to accelerate the discovery of new generations of insect control traits. "Our success in developing corn traits, combined with AgBiome's unique pipeline for identifying a vast number of new candidate trait genes, will offer the seed industry a potential range of novel and critically needed products," says Genective's chief executive officer, Bruce Lee. The exact terms and rights granted to each partner are not being disclosed. AgBiome entered into a microbial discovery programme with Syngenta last year.
