GMOs boosted Brazil by $29 bn in 18 yrs

The economic benefits from the cultivation of genetically modified crops in Brazil have exceeded $29 billion over 18 years since adoption of the technology to 2015, national media report. They cite national research from market consultancy Celeres on behalf of the Brazilian seed association, the Abrasem. The economic benefits were calculated from the costs of extra land that would needed to be cultivated to produce conventionally what had been produced through the planting of GM lines.
