Bee deaths linked with pesticides in Japan

An increase in the number of bee deaths in Japan has been linked with the use of insecticides to control stink bugs in rice paddies, according to a Ministry of Agriculture study reported by The Japan Times. The Ministry found that many cases of large-scale honeybee deaths occurred when pesticides were sprayed on paddies near beehives, the newspaper reports.
