US EPA OKs Surveil pre-mix herbicide
The US EPA has granted approval for Dow AgroSciences’ pre-mix dual active ingredient soybean herbicide, Surveil. The company launched a co-pack version in late 2013. It is the first time that the ais, flumioxazin and cloransulam-methyl, are combined together in one easy-to-use premix, Dow notes. Surveil offers convenient mixing and handling characteristics and control of many herbicide-resistant weeds, it adds. The pre-emergence residual herbicide can tackle resistance issues and hard-to-control weeds such as marestail (Conyza canadensis), Palmer amaranth (Amaranthus palmeri), and giant and common ragweed (both Ambrosia spp). It will be available for the 2016 growing season.
