Brazil agchem market falling
Agrochemical sales in Brazil fell by 15% in the first half of this year, national media report. They cite figures supplied by the agrochemical industry association, the Andef. Executive director Eduardo Daher warns that early expectations of a small rise have turned into an anticipated small decline. “If we were [at the start of the year] expecting a 2-3% annual rise, that has become at best a flat market [for 2015] and even a small fall in [Brazilian currency] real terms,” he reportedly says. Mr Daher expects a spike in sales over a small period in the coming months, which “could pose logistical problems”.
