US approval for BASF's Obvius seed treatment

BASF has received US approval for the fungicidal seed treatment, Obvius (fluxapyroxad - trade-marked as Xemium + pyraclostrobin - trade-marked as F500 + metalaxyl), for use on pulses, podded vegetables and canola. It provides long-term control of diseases such as Ascochyta spp, Pythium spp, Fusarium spp, Rhizoctonia spp and Botrytis spp, BASF points out. The product will be available for the 2016 season. BASF received its first US approvals for fluxapyroxad, as Merivon and Priaxor, in 2012.
