Paraguay OKs 15 emamectin importers in a year
Since the lifting of Paraguay’s emamectin benzoate insecticide sale, import and use suspension, some 15 companies have registered as importers of the active ingredient, the national plant health inspection service, the Senave, reveals. The country lifted its short suspension of the insecticide last year. It issued a set of guidelines regulating the use of emamectin benzoate, including of mixed formulations with other ais. They included a 10% maximum formulation of the insecticide. The Senave reviewed and re-evaluated each registration over 90 days covering importers and retailers. Initially, four companies were registered, and the Senave has since added 15 through its reviews. The service sought greater competition in the ai’s supply.
