China’s Hebang to move glyphosate plant
Chinese chemical company Sichuan Hebang Biotechnology will move its 50,000 tonnes/year glyphosate herbicide manufacturing facility from Wuhan in China’s central Hebei province to Leshan, a city in the western province of Sichuan. The plant also has the capacity for 100,000 tonnes/year of glyphosate aqueous solution, and 20,000 tonnes/year of wettable powder. The planned move was announced by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Earlier this year, Hebang Biotechnology’s parent company, Hebang Group, agreed to acquire a majority 51% stake in Israeli biopesticide company Stockton.
