Certis USA debuts Double Nickel 55 in Mexico
Mitsui & Co's subsidiary, Certis USA, has launched its biofungicide, Double Nickel 55 (Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain D747), in Mexico. The water-dispersible granule formulation is for the control early blight, powdery mildew, Rhizoctonia spp and Phytophthora spp on fruiting vegetables, such as peppers, chillies, tomatoes and potatoes, and on cucurbits, melons and grapevines. Double Nickel 55 is to be distributed by Summit Agro Mexico, which has an exclusive deal to sell eight Certis biopesticide products in the country. A liquid concentrate formulation of Double Nickel 55 is pending approval and is anticipated to become available in the autumn. Certis notes the product’s potential for resistance management and its commercial success in the US.
