New Zealand OKs Prolectus import
The New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority has approved an application from Sumitomo Chemical to import the fungicide, Prolectus (fenpyrazamine 400 g/litre), for the control of grey mould (Botrytis cinerea) on grapevines. It will be imported packaged and ready for sale in the country. Fenpyrazamine is a new active ingredient to New Zealand. The EPA has imposed a 6 m buffer zone along waterways and other controls to reduce risks to aquatic and sediment-dwelling organisms. Sumitomo applied to import the fungicide last year.
