AgBiome raises $34.5 million from investors
The US agricultural biotechnology company, AgBiome (Research Triangle Park, North Carolina), has secured $34.5 million from investors to fund its research and development programmes. Investors include Monsanto, Syngenta and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. AgBiome is developing novel pest and disease control products. It recently formed a strategic partnership with the France-based KWS/Limagrain joint venture, Genective, to accelerate the discovery of new generations of insect control traits. Last year, AgBiome entered into a microbial discovery programme with Syngenta.
