DuPont Pioneer expands US research site
DuPont seed subsidiary DuPont Pioneer has expanded its US research centre in Windfall, Indiana. The site serves as a multi-crop hub for the eastern US and supports global breeding and testing programmes in maize, soybeans and wheat. The expansion includes 15,000 sq ft (1,394 m2) of indoor work space and 9,600 sq ft of equipment and machinery storage. "The Windfall multi-crop research centre will enable the deployment of advanced breeding technologies, such as double haploids and molecular breeding for development of high-quality, locally adapted hybrids," says DuPont Pioneer's senior director for soybean research, Paul Stephens.
