Brazil GMO area to rise 4% in 2015
Planting of genetically modified crops is to rise by some 3.9% this year, Sao Paulo news agency Estadao Conteudo reports. It cites a market consultancy Celeres study that points to the GM crop area reaching 44.2 million ha. That would account for 90.7% of the combined cotton, maize and soybean acreages. Last year’s GM crop area rose by a similar 4.2%, Estadao adds.
