EU drops new data requirements for AIR-2 agchem products
A scheduled introduction of new, more stringent, data requirements for the renewal of certain agrochemical product approvals has been removed by the European Commission. The change relates to products based on active ingredients in the second round of the EU renewal programme, called AIR-2. Previously, applications to renew these products could use older data requirements if they were submitted before December 31st 2015, with the new requirements applying after that date. However, the Commission earlier this year proposed removing the deadline when it became clear that it could be out of reach for some companies because of ongoing delays in EU renewal procedures.
