Dow licenses Plextein technology to Critical Path

Dow AgroSciences has licensed its Plextein protein detection technology to the US contract research company, Critical Path Services (Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania). Dow has granted a non-exclusive licence to the patented (US 8,227,252) technology that includes a high-throughput method for detecting multiple proteins in plants using liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry. "Plextein has the potential to accelerate the discovery and development of novel plant traits by simplifying the analysis of complex samples, which ultimately benefits farmers with new products," says Dow's global seeds discovery leader, Tom Meade. The company plans to broadly license the technology.
